Juan Angel Chavez and Glenn Goldberg at Linda Warren Projects

Sculptor Juan Angel Chavez and painter Glenn Goldberg have shows opening tonight at Linda Warren Projects in the West Loop.  Chavez will be presenting, "Gone", a series  using raw materials from a 19th century Indiana barn that was shot at and burned.  I've viewed many his installations over the years, including ones at the Hyde Park Art Center, the new DePaul Art Museum, and the National Museum of Mexican Art.  They all had in  common the use of found materials and signs but were all put together in vastly different ways.  Even though his work is referred to as sculpture, you can enter many of his installations and activate different storylines as you experience the work.

Goldberg will be showing paintings exploring patterns and beautiful visual imagery touching on mandalas and tantric energy.
